Created in 1986 by Lyly Fortin<\/span><\/span> in St. John’s<\/span><\/span>, this flag embodies the pride, history, and dynamism of the Francophone community of Newfoundland and Labrador.<\/p>\n The blue, white, and red colours recall the French origins of the first settlers. The two sails symbolize their ancestors’ crossing to Newfoundland and Labrador.
