The art of hooked rugs at \u00c9cole des Grands-Vents<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Students in grades 2 to 4 at \u00c9cole des Grands-Vents<\/a> have the opportunity to meet artist Anastasia Tiller this week. Thanks to TNL’s ArtsSmarts program, they are discovering and experimenting with hooked rugs, a Newfoundland tradition, while creating their own pieces. A wonderful way to connect learning to their province’s cultural heritage. <\/p>\n

Two wins at the public speaking competition for \u00c9cole l’ENVOL<\/h3>\n

Four students from \u00c9cole l’ENVOL<\/a> participated in the Canadian Parents for French<\/a> Concours d’art oratoire, proudly representing their school. Two of them came away with a victory: Anne-Rose won the 9-10 year old Francophone category, and Prisca won the 11-12 year old Francophone category. Congratulations to both of them! <\/p>\n

Eggs to hatch at \u00c9cole Bor\u00e9ale<\/h3>\n

The students at \u00c9cole Bor\u00e9ale<\/a> are embarking on a new adventure: they have placed eggs in an incubator and are eagerly awaiting the first hatchings, expected at the beginning of May. And the future looks just as promising, as some hens will remain at the school to continue the experiment. Stay tuned! <\/p>\n

This morning, the students at \u00c9cole Rocher-du-Nord<\/a> received a visit from Constable Greg Davis of the RNC\/RCMP, who presented a session on online safety: a topic that is more relevant than ever. Thank you to Constable Davis for this valuable contribution to our school community. <\/p>\n
