École Rocher-du-Nord offers a wide range of extracurricular activities that promote the involvement of young people and strengthen their sense of belonging to the school community that comes to life in our school.
Students participate in NLAA running competitions and Trackfest.
Students train after school and participate in regional tournaments.
Students can participate in the Gymnasium Lunchtime Sports, several days per cycle.
We run one- and two-day hikes on the East Coast Trail each year. These excursions allow students to complete the Bronze Tier Excursions component of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

We offer yoga and fitness classes to encourage active living among our youth.
Students have the opportunity to develop their sewing skills through the Au petit point sewing club and home economics and clothing/textiles classes. In Grade 8, students make their own backpack for hiking the East Coast Trail.
Students have the opportunity to develop technology skills such as coding in technology classes and the technology club.
The students of the Pop Rocks group meet once per cycle to perfect their musical talents on the instruments of their choice.
The cooking workshops allow students to hone their culinary skills while exploring the components of a healthy diet.
RDN organizes school trips to a Francophone environment so that our students can fully experience their Francophonie in a Francophone environment.
This outing to White Hills, a ski resort near Clarenville, allows students to spend a great day outdoors downhill skiing or snowboarding.
Every year, RDN students go to Ronald MacDonald’s house to bake muffins for the families who stay there.
We are part of the Take Our Kids to Work initiative, which allows Grade 9 students to spend the day in a workplace they would like to learn about and learn more about.
The Prize is a process, not a distinction. It is a path that young people take to develop themselves personally and socially. Through the activities, they learn from their new experiences and discover unsuspected potential and talents.
To win a prize, young people between the ages of 14 and 24 only have to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.
Every year, middle school students participate in the science competition at RDN. The winners of the school’s competition participate in the regional competition in April.
Each year, students in grades 7 and 8 participate in the PGL Dictation. The school final takes place in the spring. The winners of the dictation of each level participate in the National Grand Final in May.
