Today we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. A way to thank these professionals whose noble responsibility is to train the adults of tomorrow. It is also an opportunity to congratulate them for their adaptation to the Covid-19 era.

5 October commemorates the signing of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. This sets out the benchmarks for teachers’ rights and responsibilities as well as standards for their initial and in-service training, recruitment, employment and teaching and learning conditions. Teachers’ Day has been celebrated since 1994.

To all teachers, and especially those of the CSFP, from the metropolis of Avalon to Labrador, via the West Coast, we wish you a good day!
