The Ministry of Education, in agreement with the Conseil scolaire francophone provincial and the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District, has decided not to schedule an exam this year. All classes are concerned, from kindergarten to grade 12.

This decision was made to ensure that students are assessed in a way that reflects what they have learned, but also the challenges they have faced during the pandemic.

At the same time, ministry and school board officials have undertaken a study to determine the relevance of public assessments and reviews beyond this year. This long-term study will focus on finding a model that will help teachers identify or improve learning outcomes, and expand their reach.
