At École Sainte-Anne, our students have many opportunities to enrich their academic and personal career by discovering and practicing cultural and sports activities taking place in Grand’Terre, on the Port-au-Port peninsula or in other Francophone or Acadian regions.
At École Sainte-Anne, we also have a mandate to promote knowledge and preservation of the culture and traditions of the Francophonie. We pursue this objective both in classroom training and in extracurricular activities that put our students in contact with other Francophones in the province and elsewhere.
To transmit the Franco-Newfoundland culture specific to the Port-au-Port region, all the school’s students take accordion lessons every week, individually or in small groups.
Heritage Fairs is an event during which middle and high school students are invited to highlight, through several mini-exhibitions, the contribution of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who served during the First World War or by dealing with a topic related to the historical theme of the year.
A wide range of sports activities are offered to the school’s students, extracurricular activities and during school hours. The most motivated among them even have the chance to participate in the Jeux de l’Acadie.
In addition to all the sports that the students already practice in collaboration with the Participation Nation organization, École Sainte-Anne has a women’s volleyball team that made a name for itself by winning the silver medal at the regional volleyball championships held in November 2018.
