Our student at the Canadian French-Canadian Cultural Federation Congress
Last week, Tristan Claveau, a Grade 12 student at École Sainte-Anne, represented our community at the Canadian French-Canadian Cultural Federation Congress in Ottawa. A memorable experience for this young Francophone, at the heart of important conversations about Canadian culture and the Francophonie. Congratulations, Tristan!
The choir on the main stage
On March 6, the choir of École l’ENVOL joined students from the three other schools in town to open the 65th Labrador West Winter Carnival with songs. Three pieces were performed together, in front of an audience, to officially launch the festivities. Proud of their region, the students wore the blue, white, and green colours of the Labrador flag: a detail that speaks volumes about who they are and where they come from.
A morning of music for the Francophonie
As part of the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie and to mark International Francophonie Day, École Rocher-du-Nord kicked off its day with music, welcoming Franco-Ontarian artist Mehdi Cayenne. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the French language through artistic creation. Thank you to Mehdi Cayenne for his performance, and to the ACFSJ for making this show possible.
School takes to the fresh air
In January, the students of École Boréale traded their classrooms for the crisp winter air, and the results speak for themselves: beautiful, colourful creations in the snow, and smiles that reflect the joy of learning in a different way.
A choir born from a wonderful collaboration
In partnership with the cultural network, École Notre-Dame-du-Cap has created its own school choir, under the direction of Mark Cormier. On March 26, the students will travel to Stephenville to participate in the Rotary Music Festival: a fantastic first performance for this developing group.
Green was in the spotlight
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the students of École des Grands-Vents immersed themselves in Irish culture: shamrocks, mischievous leprechauns, and of course, lots of green. The dance celebrating the holiday, held on Friday, March 13, was a resounding success thanks to the dedication of the staff and the enthusiastic participation of the families. A wonderful day for the community.
