Regular school transportation (morning and evening on school days) is a service offered free of charge to all students of CSFP schools.
The organization of this service is the responsibility of the Conseil scolaire francophone de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (CSFP), which is funded for this purpose by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education. As part of its mandate, the CSFP must ensure compliance with all federal and provincial laws governing this service, as well as the regulations of the Department of Education, particularly concerning safety. The CSFP is also responsible for ensuring that school bus drivers have all the qualifications required by law. However, the determination of bus routes is carried out in close collaboration with school administrations and the bus company providing the service.
Furthermore, students’ compliance with safety rules and expected behavior on school buses is the responsibility of the school administration. It is also the administration’s decision to close the school when weather conditions are poor and to take all possible measures to inform students, their parents, or guardians as quickly as possible. This is, among other reasons, why it is so important for the school to have your complete contact information, both at home and at work.
