The art of hooked rugs at École des Grands-Vents
Students in grades 2 to 4 at École des Grands-Vents have the opportunity to meet artist Anastasia Tiller this week. Thanks to TNL’s ArtsSmarts program, they are discovering and experimenting with hooked rugs, a Newfoundland tradition, while creating their own pieces. A wonderful way to connect learning to their province’s cultural heritage.
École Notre-Dame-du-Cap dishes travel
Students at École Notre-Dame-du-Cap got their hands dirty this week preparing shakshuka, a dish with North African origins.
Two wins at the public speaking competition for École l’ENVOL
Four students from École l’ENVOL participated in the Canadian Parents for French Concours d’art oratoire, proudly representing their school. Two of them came away with a victory: Anne-Rose won the 9-10 year old Francophone category, and Prisca won the 11-12 year old Francophone category. Congratulations to both of them!
Eggs to hatch at École Boréale
The students at École Boréale are embarking on a new adventure: they have placed eggs in an incubator and are eagerly awaiting the first hatchings, expected at the beginning of May. And the future looks just as promising, as some hens will remain at the school to continue the experiment. Stay tuned!
Online safety at École Rocher-du-Nord
This morning, the students at École Rocher-du-Nord received a visit from Constable Greg Davis of the RNC/RCMP, who presented a session on online safety: a topic that is more relevant than ever. Thank you to Constable Davis for this valuable contribution to our school community.
A successful 50/50 raffle at École Sainte-Anne
École Sainte-Anne held its 50/50 raffle as part of its fundraising activities, and Clinton took home the $4,540 prize. Congratulations to the winner!
