Notre-Dame-du-Cap School Admission

Admission requirements

Would you like your child to attend École Notre-Dame-du-Cap? Your application will be accepted if you belong to the group designated, in legal terms, as the rights holders.

You are one of them if you meet one or more of the following conditions:

  • Your first language learned and still understood is French.
  • You received your primary education at a school of instruction in French as a first language in Canada.
  • One of your children is receiving or has received his or her primary or secondary education at a school of instruction in French as a first language in Canada. (A copy of the most recent report card must be provided.)
  • One of your parents is a French-speaking Canadian citizen (their first language learned or understood is French).
  • You are from or you live in the Port-au-Port peninsula.

Other possibilities:

If you do not meet any of the admission criteria listed above, complete the "Application for Permission to Admit (Other Cases)" section of the Admission Form.

To register your child, you can now complete and submit the form online. You will receive a confirmation of receipt of your form by email.

  • By registering your child in kindergarten for the start of the 2021 school year, you will automatically be enrolled in the 2021-2022 sessions of the JUMPSTART program.
JUMPSTART Program

IMPORTANT: Your child must be 5 years old by December 31 of the year they start kindergarten.

The Head Start program is designed for children entering kindergarten next year and their parents.

Jumpstart sessions will allow your child to experience kindergarten one year before they enrol in school. These sessions will ensure a smooth transition to school. As parents, you will also participate in sessions where you will receive information to help you support your child’s learning at home. You will also meet other parents of children enrolled in the program.
